iWiE Weekly Update

We have a couple announcements, reminders, and updates for y'all. Our board has been working very hard to develop some awesome content and events that we're excited to see you all at. As the semester starts to get busy, we hope that our events give you something to look forward to. Here are our weekly reminders and updates!
REMINDERS:
Dues this semester will be $10 if you get them in before October 14th. Afterwards they are $15. We will be collecting them at all our events this month. It is pertinent that we get dues as early as possible that way we can plan and provide for awesome and exciting events for you guys! Please contact a board member or email us if you have any questions or concerns.

NEW EVENTS:
***Come join Illini Women in Economics at a Meet and Greet this Saturday, October 7th, from 3-5pm! We’ll hangout and talk about classes and exchange tips & tricks for difficult classes, so come on out!! Address is 903 S First Street, Apt 324, Champaign IL. ***Women in Economics is patterning with the Illinois Leadership Center to host a Teamwork Workshop. The workshop is designed to help students develop skills to become a more effective team member. It is also a great way to learn strategies to work more efficiently and understand errors of unsuccessful teams.

UPDATE ON BARN DANCE TICKET SALES:
Just to remind you all, the Econ Student Group/Stats Barn Dance sponsored by the Illini Women in Economics, Econ Club and Stats Club is on October 18th from 7pm-12am. Click interested on our facebook event if you're ready to dance your boots off!
Barn Dance wristbands will be sold starting this Wednesday and continuing until the end of next week! Sales times and locations for this week are as follows:
Wednesday: 1pm-4pm at the Courtyard Cafe (Union) Thursday: 11am-2pm at the UGL Espresso Royale Friday: 2pm-5pm at Courtyard Cafe (Union)
Keep an eye on the facebook event page for more specific updates and information for ticket sales next week!
DO NOT LOSE YOUR WRISTBAND between when you get it and the dance, you will not be able to get on the bus without a wristband. Replacement wristbands will be sold the night of for $15 if you lose it. Ticket Prices: Paid Members: $10 (also an important reminder to please have your dues in on time!) Guests: $15

There is no limit to the number of guests that you can bring, so share this event with any friends you plan on bringing!
Committee Applications:
We are accepting applications to join the External Committee. The External Committee focuses on conducting alumna workshops, meetings, and conferences for members. You would also be involved in connecting with recruiters for lasting partnership with iWiE such as recruiter info sessions and case studies. Other roles include contacting other RSOs to collaborate events and reaching out to other UWE chapters for collaborative events. The average weekly commitment is 2-3 hours a week depending on the event schedule.
Applications are due on Sunday, October 15th, at 11:59pm. You MUST pay your dues on time. Special consideration will be given to those who participate in iWiE events. You can submit your application here: https://goo.gl/forms/kRpOGgRAhJbl1pGJ2
